When adding integers: If the signs are the same (++) or (--), add the digits and carry the sign. If the signs are different (+-), subtract the smaller digit from the larger digit and carry the sign of the larger digit. When subtracting intergers: Reverse the sign on the 2nd integer and add. When multipying or dividing: if the signs are the same (++), or (--) the answer is positive. If the signs are different (-+) the answer is negative.
