Catholics painted the bulls-eye on themselves by a series of bad decision making.
1. Consenting to the slave trade.
2. Allowing priests that molest alter boys to remain priests and relocate thinking this will change their behavior.
3. Appointing a Nazi as the new Pope.
4. Years of corruption.
5. Denying women the right to become clergy.

First I would think that one of two items within the church should be rethought. One there should be a person that overseas a group of churches in a given state or district. Than hey can keep an eye on things and have sit downs with priests. Living a life with no sexual contact if difficult to say the least. Your body produces everythin to have this desire. Next you must consider a church offical's true faith. If the offical can not handle it he must act on it.
However this may help to a certain extent but still many will not speak and many may just have perverted ways about them. Another thought would be change the rule. Where did this rule come from in the first place?
I think there needs to be a greater understanding of doing things in vain. As the belief is no marriage only to God as being pure is maybe flawed. I think a perosn of strong will can have a relationship and be very pure just by not doing things in vain and being just.
It is difficult to change or evolve any rule or law that has stemed from any bible. I think a little converse with God every now and again can prove to be fruitful on change for a member or for the whole group.

I think it's weird, and the Catholic Church needs to "clean house". Obviously there were men who got into the faith to help entertain their horrible desires. These are hardly men of God.
I think the Catholic Church has tried to keep a bit of a lid on what they can both to prevent embarassment to themselves, and to keep it from becoming a media frenzy (more than it has).
I think that the way you've asked your question is a bit inflammatory, don't you?

No this is not the case, many old cases from years ago were handled poorly, but the church has a very strong policy on these issue

I see why most religious people are republican now. They have so much in common when it comes to covering up sex with young boys. And no, I don't....I think rape, forgive, go directly to jail.

I feel the Catholic clergy has been severely compromised because of what has been learned Thu these abuse scandals and will never again have any semblance of authority until they prove to us they will take a fierce stand against these perversions.heads need to roll.
