It shows the smoker to be a complete idiot......

I think it does to an extent. Since everyone knows that second hand smoke is nasty, and distasteful to others who don't smoke, yet they will loudly proclaim their right to smoke supersuedes others' right to breath clean air, I do think they are less considerate than others. In most cases it is very obvious that the smoker is self-centered as they chain smoke around their small kids, or their kids have ratty clothes becuase the parents spend their $ on cigarettes--nowadays a carton costs as much as a shirt and pants for a child. I was raised that smoking was wrong, and was always biased against smokers, but as I grew up I certainly saw there was a lot to the idea that those who smoked were more likely to lie, cheat, steal, be less trustworthy and less compassionate of others than those who do not smoke.

No. (I am an avid NON-smoker) but know many good people who happen to smoke, many struggle with quitting. Of course smoking sets you up for a whole host of medical problems...but it in and of itself does not make you a good or bad person.

Smokers suck

Some people have told me that they smoke cigarettes because it is the only thing they can suck on in public...

It depends on the person who is judging a smoker. According to me, a person who does not have any self control goes for smoking. They r harming themselves plus d people around them, so they can b termed selfish also.

The answer is no,smokers aren't bad people, bad people are smokers. (Generally)

Anti-Smokey Rant:Anyone who defends smoking and doesn't realise by now how dangerous it is, will hopefully not die in a sudden and fatal accident, lest they be spared of their painful death in hospital that they brought among themselves.

Well, I would look at someone who smoked as weak. So, not necessarily a bad person, but still someone who I would never consider.

No, not at all .he/she just smoke for his/ her own pleasure which doesn't result in any change in the qualities or behaviour of that person.

I don't think so, although it does show that the person is making a bad choice for his or her health.
