What is the difference between the mid 90's 4.6 liter v-8 engines? I have rode in both cars with the same engine in them, but the mustang seems to have so much more torque, and it hits the high rpms quick and hard. The crown victoria doesn't have the police package and it doesnt seem to have the same engine response. Can someone give me a link with some specs for these 2 engines? Or tell me what the differences are?

It's all in the gearing. That is the difference you are feeling. A 3.55 rearend in the Mustang versus a 2.78 in the Crown Vic, gives the Mustang more bottom end and the Crown Vic more top end speed. The Police package just adds a lighter driveshaft, beefier rear springs and different computer calibration to change the top speed to 124 mph.

Update: Yes, the swap can be made, the basic engines are the same. Swap the intake and exhaust parts from one to the other and both will work in the vehicle.

First no longer all turbine engines are jets- a jet engine is a sort of turbine that propels a vehicle by using spitting out the exhaust. The M1 makes use of a turboshaft which makes use of a turbine to tutor a shaft which in turn turns the wheels and strikes the tank. Helicopters use a similar form of engine to spin the rotor.

all the answers are correct, but don't forget about the vehicle weight factor. That plays a huge role in the power that you feel driving these two cars
