You should not at all be picking a major just on how much money you will be making. Unless you plan to be miserable and think that money is more important then your happiness. I studied nursing and make about 55k a year right now, but that will go up as my experience grows. But I doubt thats considered decent money to you.

I've already done my undergrad and graduate degrees, so that doesn't really make any difference. Hot jobs? Hard to tell what will be hot by the time you graduate. Why not pick something that you enjoy doing and concentrate on that. If you're going to pick a major just because you think you can make money out of it, you're not going to enjoy your studies, you aren't going to enjoy school, and you aren't going to enjoy your job. That's a pretty bleak outlook. So go for something that you are really interested in.

First of all, please don't make the mistake of going for a job based on the money it will make. Because you may find out after all that training that you don't like the career. It's a lot better to go for a position that you would really like and then work your way to a promotion that will give you the financial rewards.
That being said, picture yourself graduating college, and all jobs will pay the same amount of money. What type of work are you doing and why do you like this type of work?
If you do what you love, the money will follow.
I'm going to school for my human resources degree. The field pays between $25,000 to $125,000 per year depending upon the level of HR.

Chose something that you are interested in...
Me I am a criminal Justice Major with a chemistry minor... I love helping people, and I want to work in forensic science, Because I am really good at Chemistry, and I love being a Intern for the FBI...
Don't choose something because of how much money you will make, but something that you could see your self spending the rest of your life doing... You don't have to make a decision right away, usually your 1st year or so of college is usually basics... This gives you a chance to explore options that your college has to offer. The average college student changes their major at least 3 times in their college career... I am a college student working on my senior year at Abilene Christian University, in Texas. Also I work for the student recruiters office at ACU, and a lot of incoming freshman have an undecided major, but usually by the start of their 2ed year, they have completely devoted them selves to a major... I hope this helps, and good luck....
