I am curious your experience using any anti-anxiety drug assuming you don't mind posting on a public form. I have tried xanax but it is too over whelming. I go to a new doctor in a new state in the morning and debating what to request. I have had tint 1/2 mg klonopins which didn't work good enough. I want a drug in the same family but nothing to sleepy feeling. Also I assume there is a different feeling from volume to xanax to klonopin etc. I once had a benzo theat started with "M" which worked perfect.

Anyway severe anxiety non constant is my dilema.

Please don't post go consult a doctor garbage as I want experience answers and most doctors havn't tried any meds so says my logic. Cheers

I like addictive drugs. They don't perscribe them for no reason at all now!

As far as cognitive behavioral therapy . There is always an answer for a problem but sometimes we must deal with the real problem at a later date.,

Well there is another one in that family too. adivan, That works, it is less sleepy then xanax. but you have to be careful with those types of drugs. They are very addicting. If you have anxiety maybe you should talk to your DR. about trying an antidepressant.
Some of those work for anxiety also. Yes there is A very different feeling from Valium and Xanax. Valium is A muscle relaxer not an anti anxiety med. To much Valium messes with your muscles after A while. and you start to have muscle spasm's and cramps. So I don't recommend that for long term, and that is addictive also. Different meds work different on different people.
I know about these meds , because I've have anxiety problem's my whole life. I took Xanax and Adivan and I preferred Xanax. Now my friend has anxiety also and she can't take Xanax , it kicks her but and makes her sleepy. She takes adivan and is fine. so it really depends on your body system.... try an antidepressant's, See how that work. give it A while.. Hope this helps U.... I know your pain....... Good luck.!!

Most benzo meds are addicting. Some people have had good results with Lexapro as an anti-anxiety. Also Buspar is for anxiety and not addicting.

Not sure which benzo you had that started with an M , as none come to mind right now. Maybe it wasn't a benzo...could it have been Mirtazapine or Mellaril?

Benzos are highly addictive and have long term side effects. You can learn to manage anxiety without medication--I did!! that's probably not what you want to hear, but it's true.

If you are addicted and want your Xanax you can find a doctor who will give it to you. A lot of family doctors don't know any better

i am not a doctor, but i do work in a pharmacy only to clean up my act a street pharmacist. Any way with my experience, alprozalam, xanax, barre pill, planks, footballs, as well as schoolbuses(all refering back to xanax) are very powerful for begining users. The first few times that i tried it, it was just a blank for me, i couldnt remember anything for **** and on top of that it would make me look so stupid if i went out in public. I wouldnt every take them again And this effect is not just us, it is only normal for those humans who really, really, need it for their condition.

I don't take any meds but I work at psychiatrist's office. I think the most optimal solution is cognitive behavioral therapy in order to help solve the root of the problem. Medications only treat symptoms and without treating the cause you'll always have the problem.
