Unfortunately, deodorant companies use misleading advertising and most consumers don't even think about the difference in wording.

A deodorant only masks the smell of sweat. It does very little to actually stop you from sweating. You're basically putting a solid cologne under your arms. That's a bit exaggerated, but you get my point.

Deodorants are a waste of money, I don't even know why companies make them... again, it's misleading.

What you really need is a strong anti-perspirant. Those are formulated to actually stop sweat at the source.

Buy the solid formula of Arm & Hammer's anti-perspirant. You want the thick, solid white stuff. I know it isn't as attractive, but it will help the problem. It is a no frills brand, nothing exciting or sporty about it. It's a really good product, and I highly recommend it.

Also, trim your armpit hair, or even shave it off completely. Get over any fears or stereotypes you have. Men do it all the time, look at professional basketball players.

You only need that hair to protect you in extreme climates. Unless you live in Alaska, you won't be needing extra hair, which can make you sweatier than normal.

Good luck! If you switch to the Arm & Hammer and decrease your body hair, I really think you will see results.

If those don't work, you may have overactive sweat glands. A doctor can help, and you might look into botox injections, which can give you relief for extended periods.

The more deodorant you use, the worse the stains. First off let's define the "stain." It's actually caused by the aluminum in the deodorant (actually an antiperspirant because it blocks the pores and stops them from allowing moisture through.) Aluminum has been recently implicated in breast cancer and has been suspected of leading to Alzheimer's as well, but that is a different question and more research needs to be done to know for sure. As far as removing the stains, lemon juice on the shirt works, soak, rinse, repeat as necessary. If the shirts are very badly stained, it may not come out completely. For preventing the stains, try allowing your antiperspirant to dry throughly before putting on your white tee shirt. Blotting excess with a towel, paper or disposable is probably the best choice since you will end up with a stained towel. And again, this may not eliminate it all together, but it will help. Good luck!

Well, I do also and use Right Guard because it is the only one that seems powerful enough to stop the sweat. Have a whole shelf full of different ones I tried, went back to RG Sport.

I learned this tip from the cleaners' when I took some shirts in: Wash your shirts in warm water or hot (unless they say cold) and use normal agitation like you would for towels. I use ERA and pretreat the underarms on each shirt, leave the lid open so it washes the shirts but won't drain out--leave them that way about 20 minutes soaking, then close the lid to complete the cycle. and it generally gets the stains out.

I switched from a white deodorant to a blue one and I noticed that I started getting stains in my shirts to. So i just recently switched back to a white deodorant, because I noticed the stains in the armpits of my shirts where blue. Something that helps alot is to wear an undershirt. Not a wife-beater but an undershirt and that should help.

the aluminum in your deoderant is what leaves the stain. try one that does not have aluminum in it.
