I think that is a broad stroke of a comment. I don't think it has anything to do with being a frat boy or a sorority girl.

People are people.

When I was in a fraternity, I was as open minded and free thinking as I am today. I also knew some pretty close minded, right wing lemmings back then too.

Again, people are people, no matter what group dynamic you are in.... get used to it, that's life.

I think that the generalization you have made is VERY presumptuous. Many of the men and women involved in fraternities and sororities are very intellectually minded individuals. I am sure that your statement may be true of some people, but that does not have to apply only to those of us who have chosen to participate in Greek life. I hate that some of the experiences that you may have had have caused you to come to such a conclusion, and it is my sincere desire that in the very near future that you have some contact with both greek men and women who can show you that it is a little unfair to catergorize us all into one type of person.

It has been my experience that there are men and women that represent all walks of life that can have a tendancy to not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but that does not mean that because those few people exist in one group of people that everyone in that group of people fit that specific category.

It would be the same as saying that all men are sexist b/c some are, or that all whites are racist b/c some are, or that all blacks are ignorant b/c some are. People cannot be fairly grouped into one category for several reasons. A few of them being, that each and every man and woman is an individual, responsible for his or her own actions or lack thereof.

This is just my personal opinion, based on the fact that I am a member of a Sorority and I consider myself to be very intelligent and I also believe myself to be very well educated and able to carry very meaningful and purposeful conversations. Having said all that, I hope that you take the time to look at members of greek letter organizations as individuals rather than clumps of people.
