All of those school shootings, all of the GIRLS murdered. How come the boys are big wusses? The only "real man" was the principal shot in Cazenovia, he tackled his attacker. If any of those guys really cared for the girls in any of the schools, they would lay own there life for them. What is your opinion?

The gunman controlled the room. he had the gun, he didn't indicate he planned to kill anyone. He ordered the boys to leave at gunpoint. Many schools teach children not to attack people like this. They hope the police can negotiate a peaceful solution.

If ten boys had rushed the gunman there might have been three or four who survived. But I'm betting they were told not to provoke an attack. People with guns will shoot if attacked because that makes them feel threatened. We always hope we can talk them out of hurting anyone.

If you were in a store and a gunman came in and ordered all of the females out would you refuse to leave when he pointed the gun right at your face? Easy to say no sitting at your PC safe and sound, but much harder to do when faced with an angry gunman.

I hope you never find out which way you would go. It is a bitter lesson my dear.

OOPS! Me talking too civilized ruin caveman image. You push sensitive nerve. Me go back to caveman mode.

All of these where kids in the schools and you want a kid to stand up and be a man and take on someone with a gun i don't think so and the principal that got shot was much older to stand up to a gunman but his killer was a kid also. All these schools need are much tighter security like the school in my town the only door in is the main door and there are 4 Deputy Sheriffs in the mornings and in the afternoon and a full time security team armed at all times so anybody comes there they will be meet buy about 6 full grown men that will take the person out before making into the school.

That is a noble thought. But I don't exactly agree. The Amish kids that were targeted today were all 13 years old and younger I really don't think it fair to judge anyone of these kids who really aren't prepared to make life's tough decisions as it is. Like what they are going to do for the rest of their lives let only a life or death situation that requires them to say " Am I ready to die today! Have I done everything in my life that I want to accomplish?" Lots of these kids will grow up and because of these horrific acts they have witnessed will use this to make a difference in the world and try to stop people like the animals that are doing this! I really feel the question that should have been asked is what is wrong with these people that can harm young innocent children? If they really feel the need to hurt someone else WHY CHILDREN? most of whom have never spoke a harsh word to someone else or thought anything really mean or spiteful about another living thing! WHY? And another thing I doubt very seriously that many of the young Amish children really knew what a handgun was they are taught to be peaceful and forgiving not an eye for an eye and tit for tat. Just forgiveness plan and simple! Violence is not a part of their lives period!

Have you seen too many Chuck Norris movies? Did you ever face an armed assailent, especially when you were school-aged? I doubt that you would have reacted any differently. I was a Police Officer and Detective for 21 years and I saw a lot of people who were confronted literally cave in at the hint of the use of deadly physical force. The Principal must have been a very brave man to take on a crazed individual who was armed with a handgun. I was in the same situation and armed myself. I killed a guy and I know I did the right thing, but I spent a whole lot of sleepless nights over it. Don't be so judgemental of those young men.

Read before you say stupid ****:

About the Amish girls:
"...had ordered the boys and some adults out of the classroom before opening fire on the girls."

About the principal:
"...fatally shot the principal, a day after the principal gave him a disciplinary warning for having tobacco on school grounds"

About Platte Canyon HS:

"...took six girls hostage"

About Essex, Vermont:
"...looking for his ex-girlfriend, a teacher."

About the Indian boy:
"...shot and killed five schoolmates, a teacher and an unarmed guard at a high school on the Red Lake Indian Reservation in Minnesota before taking his own life. Weise had earlier killed his grandfather and his grandfather's companion"

Show me about the big wusses, else STFU.

People won't even help the police when someone gets shot and they saw it. Our country is full of fake gangstas. We are starting not to look so smart. People are just going on as normal even though our government is torturing people that just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Our President is a coward and had his Daddy help him avoid combat in Vietnam.
For some reason in today's world it is o.k. to be a coward. It is respected and rewarded.
Why did the boys run and leave the girls behind? Because they were boys. They were scared they did the first thing that came into their mind.
That's how the republicans have convinced people to vote for them. Don't think. You don't have time. Trust me.
Fear is a reaction when you have to deal with something.
A real American man knows fear does not always mean run.

A better question would be, why were these girls targeted? What's the reasoning? It's easy to say "The guys should've protected the girls", but these Amish kids probably freaked out! I think we hear so many hero stories from Columbine (God bless those lost), we think everyone should act that way. You never know how you will act when a gun is pointed at your head.

Would you feel better if the shooter had killed some boys, too? Unarmed children of either sex do not do well in combat with an armed man.

I believe arming the teachers is a reasonable solution. I'm sure the NRA would be glad to provide free instruction to interested teachers.

As our society changes,I see males becoming more and more effeminate.I think women are getting what they asked for and realizing it is not really what they want. Please do not get me wrong I do certainly don't believe in a man proving he is macho by being abusive in any way,but as I look around me it seems that more and more the young guys are staying at home with mommy, not taking any responsibility, young guys with manicure and pedicure, putting makeup on their faces (honestly). You know that word metro sexual, ughhhhhh.

I would like to see what you would do if a crazed man armed with a gun and rifle came after you. Talk is cheap.
