Its like I meet alot of people from pennsylvania who are racists more than the people from the west coast such as california.

Both of these areas are highly populated so you just hear more about it or see it in the news more. But you can be sure that it happens everywhere.

I lived in the Midwest for several years during my ex husbands service in the Air Force. Whites and Blacks had separate neighborhoods, markets, churches on and on.

I was not aware of this initially and had a friendship with a black girl whose husband was a co worker and friend to my husband.

I went with her on one occasion to have her hair flat ironed and I was asked to leave because I was white.

I was born and raised in California and have always lived in a melting pot of ethnic groups, so you can imagine the shock and fear I felt.

It did not affect our friendship and she felt very bad, but it didn't stop us from having a good giggle about it.

I live in the south and just a few years ago a white man ran for mayor in a black town.There was more on the news about his color than his political views.

Upstate NY has the least I've ever seen. Seems like everyone is married to everyone else!

And no one cares, except people over 70 years old.
