I believed that myth that you couldn't get pregnant while your period. But i did. I had sex on the 3rd day of my period and became pregnant but sadly i miscarried.
I have a 5 year old son and all the things i know about birth control and so on i believed that you could not get pregnant while haing your period.
Don't take the chance. Use birth control

Have had two full term pregnancies that were purposely conceived ON the first day of my menstrual cycle due to the fact we had tried every other day in between, after, before etc lol and it wasnt happening. For those who poohpooh sex during your period, believe it or not a womans libido at that time is stronger because of the hormonal surges.

i am not sure if i got pregnant while on my period however i was taking birth control without missing a single on and had my period for 3 months prior to actually finding out that i was pregnant

I've heard of this happening - you can get pregnant on almost any day, actually. This is because some women ovulate at different times during the month (including during their periods) and some women ovulate more than once a month (including during their periods). You could be one of those women - something to keep in mind.

Theoretically, its not possible to be pregnant during periods, as the endometrium (inner layer of the uterus) breaks down during menstruation,which is what causes the blood and clots, along with the passing of the dead ovum (when no ovulation took place). During pregnancy, the progesterone hormone proliferates the endometrium, to give it a nice 'bed' for the fetus.
But i have heard of some people getting pregnant during periods too. As Mrs. Mama2 said, if its meant to be, it will . :)

i have fallen pregnant both times straight after my period.
but i do now that it is very possible to fall pregnant anytime during periods. every woman is different!

I did, on the second to last day of my period. I was also on the pill. Cant say my little girl wasnt meant to be :)

I remember quite well, on the second day and then My monthly became lighter but I thought that it was just over. But it was the beginning of something beautiful. Good Luck to you.

i've never been pregnant but i know for a fact that it is possible and the day would be different for each woman
