Jesus is the reason for the season. Yes my holiday is Christ based. We have a tree and presents but also attend Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve. We also celebrate family and friends.

No. He was never there to begin with. If you know anything about church history, Christmas was only invented as a way to convert the Pagans to their beliefs and drive pagan ways into extinction. It just happened to be convenient that they worshipped a similar god who was born on Dec 25 so the Catholics stole that day which later became Christmas. Biblical scholars will all say that Christ was not born on Dec 25 because it doesn't agree with the dates and information given there (shepherds don't tend flocks in the fields in the winter, etc).

Yes I do. But I also try to celebrate his life all year round. I have a really pretty nativity. I am into Cutesy, my tree is alwyas Cutsey, but my nativity is pretty and elegant and is displayed for all to see. Christ is the reason for the season. I also call it Christmas. I avoid buying things with the word HOLIDAY on them, because I celebrate Christmas and not 'the Holidays"

Yes, but Christmas is only one day. We should all be putting Christ at the center of all things every day.

Definitely. He is the reason for the season.

By the way...have you seen previews for the new movie The Nativity Story? Its a film based on the story of Christ's birth. I assume it is coming out around Christmas time!

Do you celebrate or observe advent? To me that's just as important as Christmas. Also, do you celebrate all twelve days of Christmas or are your tree and nativity down by New Years? I leave mine up until Epiphany. So, basically Christ is at the center of my holiday.

Our family tries our best to, I bought a great book by Blair from the Facts of Life, Lisa Whelchel, it is the kids Advent book for Christmas. She has really neat ideas for your children to celebrate each day, until Christmas.

I don't me to be trite or flippant about this, but Jesus is the reason for the season, and yes, I most certainly do on Christmas and the other 364 days of the year.

Often, because I'm a sinner, I fall short. Then I ask the Lord for his mercy and the grace to get back "on the beam."
