Man was born free, to think for himself, free from bondage etc. but he is influenced everywhere by culture and his society and is thus not free to be himself but chained to fit in to his society.

That sounds like a subjective statement to imply that every man is born to free will (to make choices) but there are decisions/ controls/boundaries/tempatations that are present.
