My friend and I are going to start bartending school soon and I was just wondering if the pay is worth it. We're both in college so working the night shift as a bartender works perfectly with my school schedule. I make $400 a week at my current job and quite frankly it's not enough for college. I'm hoping that bartending consistantly makes at least $600 a week or more. Best part of all I get to meet beautiful women every day! So what do you guys think?, should I go for it?

Heck yeah! It does depend on where you go tho. I used to make up to $450 a night at the bars I worked at. That may have been because one was a strip club full of stupid men throwing their money away. I worked at the side bar too so imagine what they were making at the main bar, like $500 and up every night. The last placed I worked was a redneck bar and i was the only one there with all my teeth so they were all in love with me, lol. There I would make anywhere from $100 a night to $350.

Bartenders school does help a little and it lets employers know that you have had some experience. You can also get jobs through some bartending schools as they get called for help all the time.

Good luck and remember not to get drunk at work :)

I guess most of your money would be made in tips. I would think that the money could be decent. And yes, you would also be having a good time meeting new people. I do think that you would make more than 600, but maybe that would depend on your hours.
