No, mythology is the study of the stories of usually an ancient culture. This may shock you, but some people refer to Bible stories as Jewish and Christian mythology. Mythology is not against God. It's not like there are stories that have Zeus duking it out with God or anything.

Mythology is just a condescending way of labeling other's religion or past religious beliefs. Christianity is a mythology, as is Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, etc. Mythology is a term used to describe the stories, dogma, theology, and dieties involved in a religion. It is not a judgement call on whether the stories are true or not.

Mythology is myths of some distinct group that shares simillar beliefs, it's not a religion and it is not neccerely about no longer practised religions - superstisions and present day religions also are part of mythology, thus it is about God not against it

No.

There is a widely held belief that myth means something that is untrue, fictional, made up. That isn't necessarily the complete truth.

A myth is a way that human culture tries to explain something about the world that they don't understand entirely - A way of looking at a myth is as a "model of explanation".

The idea of a "creator god" is a model of explanation. It is a way for people to understand the mysteries of the existence of the universe. It may or may not be literally true, as there is no way we can know that for certain. But it has a truth to it, in that something of the world as we see it can be explained or made to make more sense to us. So it is a myth, but not in a way that suggests it's false or untrustworthy, or a silly story - this is just our concept of myth that we have that is inaccurate, because the myths people know most about are old religions like those of Egypt and Greece and Rome. But they are no less legitimate as models of explanation than belief systems that exist today. They may just have been more suited to the culture of ancient times, and not for today's culture. Or political or racial or environmental factors caused them to be superceded by modern forms of religion, or god.

Scientific theories are models of explanation too, so can be considered myths of sorts. They are ways of explaining the world in a way that may or may not certainly be true, but they are simply models at the end of the day.

But to go back to your question - myths aren't against god. They are a wide group of symbolic ideas - god can be considered a myth (but not, I should re-iterate, in any perjorative sense, that it is false or untrue or childish - simply that it is a model of explanation of the world)

No, mythology is nothing more than a religion that is no longer practiced. "God" too will be a myth at some point in time.

Mythology is NOT against GOD.

GOD made man.
GOD sent help to early man.
GOD understood what early man, would do next. We
made gods of these helpers.
GOD waited and sure enough, man slowly grew to understand there is only 1 GOD.
GOD is very patient and is waiting still, as we learn more, we become closer to GOD. (It may not look like it but we are - the more we know the more it's obvious the GOD is present everywhere.)
No religion sacrifices humans anymore - because humans KNOW this action is against what GOD wants from us now. Isn't this interesting? We stopped, hmmm.
Humans have a long way to go - but GOD knows this and is helping where needed, and is patient. He has faith in us, that eventually humans will understand enough to move to the next level, where wondrous things will happen. (I won't be here - but I have faith in humans too.)

Not necessarily. If you don't believe in one all powerful god, then that concept is, in itself, mythology. However, if you believe in one all powerful god, then all other beliefs are mythology, and against that single deity. If you believe in no gods, then all religions are mythology.

Myths are based upon stories or patikies that our ancestors told and passed on to us about whatever belief system, they have.
Now depending on the person answering the question they will tell you yes.
But you get myths when there is no way to prove that it did happen and no way to prove that it didn't.
I do not think it is. God sent his angels as it is said to help us here on earth according to my beliefs. And these angels or energies as it is rightfully called have different names in different parts of the world.
I know they are here i jhave seen them work and help. However, i do not know about the stories of their lives because there are too many and too conflicting.
Hope that answered your question.
