Klam,
I do not know the way to determine one's moon sign mathematically. However, the easiest way to find your moon sign, or any planetary sign is by referencing the "Ephemeris". The Ephemerides will pinpoint all relevant planetary influence based on planetary location at time of birth.
You can purchase the Ephemeris from most book stores, or you can check it out from the library. The information is usually presented in 100 year increments.
You can also purchase Natal Chart software that will do the mathematics for you.
Good luck!

You need an ephemeris for the year you were born to calculate the positions of all of the planets. The Moon travels fastest of them all at 13 degrees per day. An ephemeris gives planetary positions in Greenwich Time, so you must adjust that to the place where you were born. If you were born west of Greenwich, time is earlier, but it's later east of it. I do all that for people. Once you find your Moon sign, how do you know what it means?

Go to http://www.astro.com/ and enter your birth data to draw up your free Natal Chart.
Look for the Moon symbol in the Chart - a crescent moon.
See what sign it's in. The signs will be in symbols too. First, look for Aries, which looks like the horns of a ram. The signs will be in their natural zodiacal order going counter-clockwise. Then see where your Moon is.

No problem. Go to the MSn homepage and click on horoscopes. Once on that homepage look on the right side of the page somewhere in the middle.......it will say something about free tools. Under that there is a link to find your free moon sign. Mine is Capricorn. Have fun!!!!!!!
