It may have been back in 1998, when the Department of Homeland Security issued its first and only Lavender Threat Level. That day, a policeman had to give me a full body search.
It was a very frightening and confusing experience. I'm still not sure how Homeland Security existed back then, or why the policemen was wearing leather and refused to show me his badge.
