Think of all the cool gadgetry....advances in human knowledge....especially medicine (especially age reversing drugs), cognitive science, and virtual reality (think holo deck from star trek)

Well sure. That sounds cool.
But what if 100 years later... our world is on the brink of destruction? I mean, what if there was global warming, pollution, wars and all the horrible things? And then the world is such a horrific place to live in. Then I wouldn't really want to be in the future. I'll just stick to the present.
