grass generally grows better in the sun... that is, if you want a trimmed looking grass. any plant, even grass, sways where sunlight is. hence, if it is in a shade, it will grow taller and will have an unkempt appearance seeking for sunlight. grass with lots of sunlight grows greener, too. you just have to water it a lot after sundown. just give them time to cool down first after being exposed to scorching sunlight. enjoy the green!

Depends on the grass, also the amount of sun. Some grass likes a little shade, but usually as much sun as possible is best. If you have a house, grass will grow anywhere as each part of the house gets sun at some point. Just make sure to water at night, to prevent burning the grass.

In my opinion grass needs the energy of the sun to grow and to look healthy. So I think the shade is not the right place for grass.

In the sun. If there's too much shade under a tree, it can be hard to get grass to grow there.

Grass normally grows better in sun. There is seed for sunny areas and some for shady areas. There is also sod grown for shady areas. Sun requires more water, fertilizer, etc, but you can have better, thicker grass in sun if you do things right. Ever been golfing? there you go.
And NEVER water at night unless you want to start spending more money on fungicides. Day watering causes some evaporation, but during extreme heat, it will cool the grass and the roots, and will not burn it.

I actually have alot of color and had alot of moss on my backyard. What you want to do is get moss killer. positioned it down till it turns black. Rake it up, then you quite can get a Scotts color blend of seed. positioned the seed down and canopy it wtih peet moss. be particular you keep it moist. once you water the backyard attempt to apply a listing mist. The peet moss in the different case receives washed away. If it does in simple terms positioned extra peet moss down. you could also positioned a Scotts starter fertilizer on suitable in case you want. good luck hopes this helps.
