The link is obscure at best. A booby trap was a device likely to be triggered by a foolish person ( a booby) The term dates back to the mid-19th century. The slang term "boob" meaning a woman's breast originated in World War II, approximately 1944.

i bet theres a long and powerful story behind all this...but im not gonna go into it. i dont know how the word boobs came around, but whoever named booby traps was obviously horny at the time
