You actually paid money w/o a title, or the paperwork to get the title?
Uh, lesson 1 -- no title, no money. I don't care if you're buying the car from the Pope. Without a title, that can is scrap iron.
Second, if you've got the correct paperwork for your state, you should be able to apply for a title when you get your license plates.
