You cannot get HD without an HD monitor. Now if you want a recommendation on a video card, let me know your price range and what you want it for and I can help you out.

Now, i have come across these two very cool graphic cards.....google em' for more info.
1.leadtek PX 7900GTX--features-
650MHz core and 512mb memory @ 1600 MHz.Full direct X SM 3.0
and HDR support. It has the 24-pixel pipeline architecture but lower
tratnsiser count(this causes lower heat dissipation and more
clock speed)U also get a serious sam 2 free with this card.
2.Asus EAX1900XTX--features-
512 bit ring bus control.90 nm 16-pixel pipe desighn.Pixel shader
perossors is ramped to a massive 48 units.Clocked at 650MHz core
and 1500 MHz memory speed and 512 mb of GDDR3 memory.and it
has 384 million transistors in it!!!!!

Now u decide.

uhm, if you want high definition so you should have a good new graphic card and it should be PCIe. The reason is, if you use AGP card now you won't be able to upgrade the graphic in the future. In my opinion, you should buy a new motherboard supporting PCIe, then check your budget ^_^ and buy a good HDTV PCIe card. It's more expensive now than buying an AGP card, but you'll realize it's right choice.
