Derogatorially in English, but near as I can tell the French Acadians are called Cajuns in Louisiana. Also, the French Canadians in Quebec are often called Habitants thus the nickname of the NHL hockey team the Montreal Canadiens is the Habs.

Whatever. They like frog legs. Better than being called "round eyed rednecks" which is what we call whitey Americans from the rural south.

Yes, the French are the Chinese of Europe - they'll eat anything. (True story: There exists a 18th century French cookbook for cats, dogs, and rats.) Among their favorites are (or were) frogs, which alliterates nicely with 'French.' Ergo, French Frogs. Except where they're called "cheese-eating surrender monkeys" that is.
