I am really shy. I cannot say anything to people. Any advice on how to overcome this? Thank goodness I do not know the definition of beauty at all. I am in the 2nd year of college. I know if I talk to new girls that are beautiful, I will be nervous. Any pointers on how to talk to anyone new in class, work, bus, library, cafes, and bookstore?

Just talk your mind, just do not worry and just talk to them. That's how I did it. The more you think about it, the more nervous you going to be. You just have to do it!

One of the easiest ways to open a conversation is by talking sports. Does your college have a football or basketball team? Look up how they rank compared to others in their division, who the top players are, etc. Watch at least the last five minutes of the game (or listen on the radio) and you'll be able to start with "Hey, did you see how we smashed the Razorbacks this weekend?" or something similar. It's a great way to break the ice, and easily leads into other conversation.

Just look at and concentrate on what's inside your heart and you will glow with beauty. Some people can be so physically attractive but mean and nasty in their hearts and eventually that shows through. People with truly beautiful hearts only become more beautiful as time goes on.

Take a college class on public speaking. The only way to overcome your fear is to face it head on! Don't be afraid of looking like a dork... just go head-on!

Start slowly by doing that smile & nod thing. If you see the same people everyday, eventually work up to a good morning. You'll come around if you try. If not, it may not be shyness, it may actually be social anxiety disorder.

I get shy around people to, but once i get to know them or talk to them for a while it get's easier. Also being drunk helps, but that dosen't solve anything. Why don't you think of it like your applying for a job, that way you have to talk to them. You could always talk to me! Audrey.Berger@Fairfieldresorts.com

"study" others from a distance, just to see if you guys have any of the same interests, then if you do, talk to them about that interest.
