For example, George Allen who is extremely racist and proudly shows the Confederate flag but doesn't mention the slavery part, and Mark Foley who tried setting up meetings with teens over the internet.
Isn't it our responsibility and the job of political party screeners to make sure such obvious shady characters don't even get the remotest chance to ever be elected?

Money, Greed, Power, and oh did I mention Money.
With enough money which equates to power anything is possible. Look at our current regime in the whitehouse. How could we have allowed such unqualified individuals in to run our country, not only are they unqualified but both are dangerous players in the world game of who to be friends with and terrorism. Look at the Carlisle group and then ask yourself this question again.

We are truly living in a sad state of national affairs. How far will this administration go to destroy our country in the next couple of years. Heaven help us...

Good question, thought provoking. Thanks.

And from where would we get that crystal ball? You cannot possibly know what a person will do ahead of time.

By the way, Allen is far from racist and was (and still is) being smeared just before an election. Don't believe the media that easily.

the main rediculous undertaking is how the primaries are carried out rather of all states vote casting on an identical time - they do a pair at a time and the vulnerable minded only vote for the single that gained interior the final state and consequently cut back out many states that dont even arrive at a vote and a great number of vulnerable minded human beings only vote for somebody from their state, like helping their close by soccer team. all of us has a tendency to do what they think of is of their maximum suitable interest and consequently i may well be greater sceptical with regard to the undesirable.

Because we are a politically immature voting population, easily swayed by the antics of ogres called politicians.

Sad to say, we tolerate them . . .

May the truth set us all free!

iT'S VERY SIMPLE, WE THE PEOPLE KEEP PUTTING THEM IN , AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO AS LONG AS WE VOTE A STRAIGHT PARTY TICKET. FOLKS NEED TO START VOTING FOR THE PERSON RUNNING INSTEAD OF VOTING FOR THE CANDIDATE ENDORSED BY THEIR POLITICAL PARTY.. PEOPLE DON'T CARE ABOUT MORALS AND SUCH IF THE PERSON IS REGISTERED THE SAME AS THEY ARE. TAKE BILL CLINTON-THE DEMOCRATS FORGAVE HIM-THE REPUBLICANS DIDN'T

“Ninety eight percent of the adults in this country are decent, hardworking, honest Americans. It's the other lousy two percent that get all the publicity. But then, we elected them.”

I have lost faith with the Average American voter and no matter what they ussually just vote for their party and thats why you get people like Ted Kennedy coming back every year.

Overall theres too much party loyalty in America.

Because most people do not bother to vote, and the ones who do, vote for their party regardless of the candidate.

in virginia, being a racist doesn't always hurt a politician...as for foley, well, at least he didn't fool around with another consenting adult...now THAT would have gotten him in BIG trouble...if he was a democrat, that is...
