21= 6 - x - 4x. Collect like terms. 21- 6 = 6 - 6 - x - 4x.
15 = -5x. Divide both sides of the equation by -5.
x = -3.

come on now, surely you want to try this for awhile yourself
you will need to know how to do this to pass any algebra class on earth (nearly)
21=6-x-4x
look, there is a -x and a -4x
one -x and four more -x's obviously totals to -5x
so now you have
21=6-5x
remembering that your equation will still be true if whatever change you make to one side, you also make to the other side, we will subtract 6 from both sides, to get that "-5x" term by itself (because it has the "x" in it and we are trying to solve for "x")
21-6=6-6-5x
15=-5x
now we divide both sides by -5 (again, we want to get that "x" by itself, dividing by the number in front of the x results in a one, and one "x" is what we want to know the value of)
15/-5=-5x/-5
-3=x

21 = 6 - x - 4x
21 = 6 - 5x
21 + 5x = 6 - 5x + 5x
21 + 5x = 6
21 + 5x - 21 = 6 - 21
5x = -15
5x / 5 = -15 / 5
x = -3
It's definately a NEGATIVE three!!!!!
