Why dont more people do good deeds??

Why are people constantly out for only themselves...

i think we should make a good deed coalition, and see what comes of it...

I disagree with the assumption that a lack of a belief in God has anything to do with people not doing good deeds. I am an atheist and try to do good things for others whenever I can. Not out of fear of punishment from God or that I think that I should because someone told me to, I simply have respect for my fellow man, and think that I should treat others how I want to be treated. But to answer the question, I guess people think it's just easier do things for only your benefit. Sometimes the good things you do for others come back in the form of reciprocal good deeds, but the satisfaction you gain from helping someone in need can be reward enough. Kudos to you for your idea on the good deed coalition, I think everyone can participate in this.

Look around you - you'll see a lot of people doing good deeds. Try to be one of them and forget about the ones who only think of themselves. You'll be better off.

I don't think that is true for everyone. I just had a really nice kid at a local drive thru be especially helpful and nice to me. I just, tonight, called the manager, told her about it and she is rewarding him for it.

I just wrote a letter to another company I found to be very helpful and useful to thank them for that.

It may not mean anything to anyone and seem very Mary SunShine but at least I am not sitting on my hind end complaining all of the time.

I try to do good deeds anytime I can.

There are good people out there, doing good deeds,, you just haven't heard about them..........I consider myself one of those that help others.

u know, i will try my best to do good deeds. sometime when one person makes me angry, i tell myself to try to make another person happy instead. i don't always succeed, but at least i try.
