My fiance is an illegal alien and we live in Florida and want to apply for the marriage liscence, however the clerk of court tells me that he must have a ssn or a green card,,, what do i do now. He has neither. Does anybody know of a county in florida that we can get the liscence. I really love this guy and we are not getting married to get him legal. We are getting married because we want to be with each other.

In order to be married to him he would have to go to the immigration department and apply for a green card.. After which you guys can get married...Which this is pretty costly

why worry about the law now??? So you want all the benefits of a legal marriage but he didnt care to register to enter the country you can't get a legal marriage certificate in the United States that I know of.. Why not go back where he came from and get married and live there???? Just a thought and if its only about love why do you need to get married anyway?

In order for the marriage to be valid you need to get him citizenship, AKA a green card.

Go to your local consulate and inquire about getting him legal status, it's the only way.

You can't be with each other unless your married? why is this?

If he is an illegal alien, then there is no legal way for you to be married to him unless you get married in his home country.

Why is marriage so important? If you want to be together, be together. A piece of paper will not change that.

Maybe you could suggest to him that he become a LEGAL US citizen first.

you get him naturalized first, or get him a greencard...
that way there's no problem and he shan't get deported randomly...
well, at least in theory.
