I took many of my classes online. I loved it, but you MUST be VERY disciplined in order to succeed!

I had an online elective. You have to keep your eyes open for any changes because learning from the computer is so much harder than having a 8point class with lectures. SInce you have no lectures, you are forced to teach yourself to get off your butt and start reading. I forgot what my online course taught because on an average basis, online courses have 20% of the course stuck in the brain. Lectures have 50 to 60%. And something personal like a personal tutor 80%. To truly understand something you need to do what the course says with a fun interactive medium which gives you 90% to 100% of material taught remembered. Online courses depends on the person but they are really hard to focus on.

I gave it a try, but I'm not disciplined enough to take the time to go online and go through lessons. I like it better interacting with other students and with the instructor.
