yes. He should go to jail and have all the things that he did to the children done to him, by the bigest guy in there and then he should be fed to the dogs; i.e. made to wear a shirt that says what he did and be messed up by all the other inmates. you cant blame alcohol for sh*t like that.

He sent emails, and he sent sexually explicit emails to pages who were at least 16 years of age. (16 is the age of consent in Washington D.C.) Unlike Gerry Studds (D-Mass) no one has alleged that Foley ever actually had relations with a page.

The messages are reprehensible and I'm glad he resigned, but it doesn't look like he actually broke the law, or that he ever molested a child.

As for blaming alcoholism, that's just pathetic. his alcoholism is a symptom of his his sickness, not the cause of it.

EDIT: You are incorrect about Florida Law. It does define Sexual Battery where the offender is over 24 and the victim is under 18, but that offense requires penetration. All other offenses defined in the Florida statute only require that all participants be at least 16.

Alcohol is only an excuse, if we let people keep using it as one the gov will try prohibition again "for our own good" if you really watch the news or other media they've already started. How many times have you heard "it is unknown if it was alcohol related" How many laws are being passed without our approval or input Send a clear message YES he should go to a real prison, at his age think about how long he has been doing this and how many other victims may be out there.

No, i do not. My moms and dads both almost continually inebriated and therefore did not care if I drank or no longer, and so I regularly did as a comfortable teen. (I actually won't be able to keep in mind a time even as my father hadn't been ingesting). ingesting at a comfortable age develop into also extra socially perfect in that society than that's the position we stay now. i do not imagine I received some thing from the free reign. I favor no longer to drink in any respect now (will do in certain situations at social activities, and so on. yet do not keep any alcohol at homestead). the most important challenge, in my opinion, is modelling healthful ingesting habit, and not in any respect transforming into a "badass stigma" about ingesting. that's authentic that international locations with more suitable legal a lengthy time period, have extra problems with binge ingesting and youngsters, which truly isn't a twist of destiny. i imagine that I do sort healthful ingesting habit yet i do not enable them drink.

The incidents are still under investigation. It's very likely that the authorities will find something damning or his spin doctors wouldn't have told him to enter rehab. He'll attempt to blame it all on alcohol. A lot of people will believe that's what his problem actually is. Whether or not he belongs in jail and whther or not he actually will go to jail are two different things.

if he's CONVICTED then they should throw the book at him!! He's setting himself up to use alcohol as an excuse..I'm a republican, but regardless of political party, justice must be served but let him have his day in court-just like all the other molesters. Even if found "not guilty" his life is ruined so if you're a democrat-it's a win-win situation

Alcohol didn't make Mark Foley a pedophile, just like alcohol didn't make Mel Gibson an anti-semite. Alcohol just made it come out.

Alcohol can't make someone become a child molester. Its just a excuse people are now using when they get caught out there doing something stupid.

I'm not defending the man, but sending emails and text is not the same as molesting someone.

But, to answer your question, he should not hide behind his alcoholism, but should take responsibility for his actions.

Interesting he did not enter a rehab center until after he got caught. The bigger crime to me is the administration knowing about it for three years and doing nothing. Sound familiar?
