I'll have to say it depends because some people are real idiots so I'll say pay it back!!!!!!!!!! But if I know they're really sorry I'd say no one's perfect................ now I'll have a chance to get a new one...... but usually I'll go for the its ok

Yeah, it really depends upon the value of the object, and the severity of the damage. Example: just last week I ran into my friend's car. On foot. And whacked his headlight out of alignment with my hip. It took us two hours to fix, plus I am insisting that he let me pay to replace some clips that snapped off in the process. Now, that's jsut 10 bucks, not normally a big deal, but cars are serious, you know? And it was completely my fault.
On the other hand, if I had lost half a dozen of this guy's pencils after he loaned them to me one by one, I wouldn't really feel obligated to buy him new ones.
I think it comes down to a courtesy type thing, where if I feel like I have done something that needs to be righted, I have to be the one make it right.
Now, if someone were to intentionally take the strap off my my really cheap watch, it would be a whole new situation. I don't really have any attachment to my watch, but that's just destroying my property. I would ask the person for 5 bucks (actually only half what I paid), and continue asking until I got it.
Wow, I really went on with that one. My apologies for rambling.

Well it depends on the situation like if they did it on purpose then i would be upset and probably make them pay me back or they could do something really nice in return for their bad doings But if it was accident i would understand cause no ones perfect and everyone makes mistakes.

It depends. If it's an accident I will most likely let it slide unless the item was extremely expensive then I think they'll have to pay. If it's done purposely they'll pay for it.

If it seems like an honest to goodness fumble, I try to be understanding... and I don't usually loan out anything that's so precious that I can't be cool about it.
If the person is borrowing something it's usually because they can't afford to have one of their own so I try to just forget about it.
There was someone my husband used to loan movies to for a while and it would be like a month before we'd get it back and he'd have to ask, the guy would never voluntarily bring it back. So when he broke a DVD of ours, I asked for him to replace it.

depends, did they break and or get it dirty when they were helping me or did they borrow it to use elsewhere and break it. I recently broke 2 expensive glasses because I was helping my daughter-in -law do dishes after dinner.

If it's ruined and no good anymore I guess I would expect them to replace it without me having to ask. If it's just dirty or something minor, then no biggie.

Hell no. I don’t care if it was an accident or deliberate, they should learn to be more careful. I’d make them pay
