I am trying to find the origins of the names Bradam,Shrader,Rector,SmithParton and Welch and Jackson

There are sites that deal with names and their meanings,however information available is seldom historically accurate and much of it is little more than myth and folk legend.
Surnames were in use long before the Christian era,in India,Asia,Greece and numerous other places.Romans had surnames also.
Much of the available information on name origins seems to be prejudiced in favour of decidedly slanted Christian pseudo versions of "history",with little or no genuine historical basis.
