Teacup Chihuahua , there are about 3 pounds.
Of course that is not a creation from Nature, it is a Man made one.
The smallest Dog is a Chihuahua, there are between
5 and 7 Pounds

There used to be dogs the size of hamsters-the mexican lapdog- but they are extinct now.
The smallest breeds are:
Yorkshire Terriers, which range from 3-7lbs normally, and don't shed.
Maltese, which also range from 3-7lbs normally, and don't shed.
Chihuahua, which range from 2-10lbs normally.
Mini Dachshund, Pomeranian, Shih-tzu, Bichon, Pekenize, and Poodles are all small breed dogs, but usually not as tiny as the abovementioned breeds.
Toy breeds are smaller than small breeds, and teacup breeds are smaller than both of them...but in actuality there is no 'teacup' officially in akc, it's just a description of size, and there is no such thing as a miniature yorkie or chihuahua...I work at a petstore and get that question constantly. I wouldn't recommend getting a 'teacup' anything, because breeders tend to inbreed them, or overbreed them to get the size, so the puppies tend to have health problems and defects as they get older.
