The most famous one is: "La Llorona," the weeping or wailing woman. Following this, I believe, are the Lechuza stories. Lechuzas are creatures of Mexican Mythology, shape-shifting witches with the ablity to change into large owls.

Other traditional Hispanic folk stories deal with ghosts, witches, shape-changers, magic, ghost light, people who return from the dead, etc.
