There is a scene in History of the World Part I. The movie is from 1981. The whole movie is a parody of history - incedibly funny. Worth seeing. The synchronized swimming is part of the "Inquisition" segment of the movie. There is a song and dance number right before the swimming.. this might be what you are looking for =)

You'll want to search on Esther Williams, who I believe was an Olympic swimmer who went on to star in movies. She was almost always part of a sync/swim scene. Some of them may have been colorized... not sure whether she made any once color was introduced into film production.
