They are starting to look kind of dirty - is there a special cleanser or will soap and water do?

U should clean your brushes every month. Get some shampoo, I use Johnson and Johnson Baby Shampoo. Some people use an anti-bacterial soap. Run in hot water or put in a little container to soak. Rinse well. Let air dry fully before closing it up. Do this also for eye, lip, powder brushes.

I love Bare Escentuals!! Best products ever. The brushes are super soft, therefore take a bit of beating up because they are so fragile. I buy new brushed once every year or two, depending on which ones. Eyeshadow, eyeliner, and buki brushes may never need replacing. My all over brush takes the brunt of everything. I replace that once a year, a little more if I can get away with it. I get a good deal at Faceetc.com.

In between I use "Well Cared For" by Bare Escentuals, I do this about once a month, maybe more, maybe less, depending on the month and what I have going on. It is a super product. I take a comb and gently work it in a bit more, be super gentle though!! Rinse well, and let them dry flat.

In a quick side note, I don't have much money, so I tried to make my all over face brush (the one I use the most) last forever. I finally broke down and bought a new one, the difference is huge. I think I might have been hurting my face the bristles were so tough and worn. So clean them every once and a while and treat yourself to new ones when you have used them a lot!

Hope this helps!!

You can check out the website listed below. I've actually read the same tips in style magazines, so it's accurate and won't ruin your brushes. Basically, just warm water and a little bit of shampoo (it's more delicate than normal soap). Make sure you let them dry really well before you use them again. :)

I you had to, you ought to purchase speacialty brush cleansing formula at makeup counters and shops, yet I even have heard that making use of shampoo or facial air purifier on makeup brushes and permitting them to air dry in one day works in basic terms besides. Oh, and basically a rapid be conscious, in case your brushes are produced from animal hair, then you definately would be greater appropriate off making use of conditioner besides. If the brushes are guy made, then making use of a formula could be suited.

There are special cleaners, MAC has one and I think Bare Escentuals has another.
I know that because my wife is a Make Up Artist.
Take care,

Mild soap and water works great. Make sure that you reshape the bristles when you are done and let them air dry standing up (in a cup or something).

swipe them on paper towels until there is no more powder on the brush! I know that is one thing they don't explain when they advertise the make-up! You ought to bring that to their attention!
