I don't think you're being too harsh. I can see why you'd be hurt. Did he get you anything for your first anniversary? Your birthday? Christmas? Some people are big on exchanging gifts, others are not. Maybe he forgot you're anniversary and now thinks getting you a belated gift would be bad form or make you mad. If he treats you well and you have a good relationship I wouldn't make a big deal about it.

Depends. You say he was traveling, but how does he show he loves you on a daily basis? Was your gift one of those once in a while things you do for him or do you do things all the time? To most, a quiet dinner at home, alone is a great gift, if followed by dessert in the bedroom. May be a little harsh, but you have to examine everything closer

I get where you're coming from... it feels bad to not be acknowledged for a big event like an anniversary, especially when you went out and got something for him.
Just let him know that you were a little upset by it, and just want to know what it means. Don't be confrontational though, maybe he feels like you got the tickets for the two of you as a way of celebrating it, and didn't consciously realize that you didn't think of it that way.

Maybe you're so too harsh. Just wait for another anniversary. Who knows, as he return, a surprise gift from him will be yours forever.

It's not a gift if you expect something in return.
ALWAYS remember this.
Now if he NEVER gets you any gifts, if he's never the initiator of fun things to do (no, I don't mean sex) if he never surprises you, you need to sit him down and talk about it. But sometimes if your gift was special enough, him giving you something in return right away would take away from the specialness of yours! Be happy that he loves you!

Not at all, obviously it means more to you then it does to him, maybe you should talk about it and see if his feelings are still the same. Did you exchange gifts the first year??

You need to get over the drama. Just tell him you where expecting a bigger deal, he is just not used to dealing with a someone like you that is all.
