I want to know was there any controversy or censorship regarding the movie "whats love got to do with it.

Maybe, from what i know about abused spouses the cruelty is unbelievable. The movie was violent enough, anyone could get the message.

As I heard the only controversy aroused when Ike Turner complained about the movie not reflecting the whole reality... as a matter of fact, the whole thing was blown out of proportion... because even Ms. Tina tried to publicly minimize the portrayal of Ike in the story, but... it did not turn out as they expected...

No the movie didn't cause any controversy at all. The reason is because, the book it was based on, Tina Turner's I, Tina, got all the controversy when it was first published.

Spousal abuse! But let's hope people explain to their kids why it's wrong, rather than censoring the whole movie.
