Make paper, lumber for houses, decks, etc... Numerous reasons.

The cause is... logger cuts down tree with chainsaw. Tree gets taken to mill where it becomes lumber or plywood. Houses are built. Baseball bats are made. Pianos are crafted. Jobs are created. Economy is boosted. New trees are planted. All is well.

First there is a need for what the trees have to give, then they cut the tree down and make the things needed.
