No. She'd probably have it by now if she was going to catch it. Just keep checking her head nightly and have a RID kit on hand encase you need it. Unfortunately this is what happens when your children are social.

Lice is common in children in school. The children who get lice do not get it because they are dirty or unhealthy. They just happened to get exposed to it. Unfortunately, if there were 2 children who have it, there are probably more. All you can really do is keep checking her head for the nits(little white eggs). You will find them within an inch of the scalp. You can tell the difference between the nits and dandruff but trying to gently remove then. Nits are well attached to the hair shaft and will not easily be removed. If you find any, immediatly get some lice shampoo from a drugstore, A kit will contain a lice comb which is used to remove the nits from the hair. dipping the comb in vinegar between passes through the hair will loosen the nits. Keeping your child home for an extra day really isn't going to solve anything, as lice is something most children get exposed to on a regular basis all through school.

To be on the safe side, get a lice treatment shampoo such as Rid (OTC) and have it on hand. Getting head lice at a public daycare is no reflection on your parenting skills. It's just a sad fact that is easily dealt with. Keeping her home a day will have no effect. Keeping her home permanently will. If that is not an option, then let the outbreak run its course, treat your child if and when necessary as directed by the product. It's going to happen. It will likely happen again next year. And the year after that, and for quite a few years to come. Just deal with it and don't dwell on it. You and your daughter will get through it just fine.

Call your local pharmacy and see what the incubation period is for lice and in the meanwhile you might find it a safe idea to go ahead and buy the medicine over the counter and start to treat not only your daughter but anyone else in the house.
To treat when there is no lice eggs at all is a safe measure
but if she should have lice eggs in incubation you will be ahead of the game.
If it were my daughter I would keep her out of day care til ALL risks of lice is gone.

On the day before school I told my daughter now 20 that if she came home with head lice I would have her put to sleep. Well she never got lice. Seriously I did. I would call the day care as there are treatments they would have to apply to the furniture and rugs and nap areas. If these treatments are complete then it should be safe to send her back.

Just check her hair, and make sure your day care doesn't have dress up clothes of any kind. As well, even if the kids are laying down napping in the same area the little bugs jump from head to head. The eggs, if they are in your daughters hair already will be extremely close to the scalp and they are almost translucent, but stick to the hair shaft. Check her out, but I wouldn't keep her home.

Get a lice comb a high quality one and run it through her hair to see if anything is there. Look for nits. They can take 7-10 days to hatch. try not to use those poisons or shampoos to get rid of them if you find any. As they can be trans-dermal. At two her hair should be fine enough for manual removal.

Its a part of life lice....the best thing is that you check your kids head...if you dont find anything ....you send them to the daycare ....and remind them not to give hugs or share hat or wahterver with other kids for now ....buy the lice shampoo just in case and keep it in your home ....
If they get it ...she gets it ...if she dont ..well she only gonna get those later on in life as it getting more common...
