I'm 33 weeks along. The past week, the pain has been excruciating! Expecially trying to do things like get in and out of the car, tying my shoe (just the right one, though...), anything that involves bending a certain way. Talked to my dr about it today, and she suggested some stretches.

Just wondering if any of you ladies have found relief with anything else!

I'm 30 weeks pregnant with twins, have had this problem for the past few weeks. My OB also suggested stretches. And massages, and to lay on my side as much as possible. There really isn't much to do, except wait for baby.

I wouldn't suggest seeing a chiropractor, unless you've been to one previously. I saw one once, she cracked my rib when I went in for a muscle spasm. Your sciatic nerve pain is caused by the baby pressing on the nerve in your back, and cracking your back won't do anything to help. Very risky!

I am 28 weeks and in a similiar boat. I not ever had any sciatic nerve agony withmy first, while it began a month or so in the past with this one I had no concept what it was once. It will get worse for me at night time while I am simply mendacity down, I can slightly roll over or get away from bed to make use of the toilet or something. But in these days it kind of feels greater, it's been greater a few days and worse the following. The medical professionals mentioned there's not anything quite to do approximately it, so I am such as you scared for a way unhealthy it's going to preserve to get.. i'm going to determine again and notice if any individual has any priceless hints!

This is going to sound really wierd, but here's what kept me sane most of the time. A cold can of soda!! Crazy, huh?

It just got to the point where my legs and my back were at about the same level of excrutiating pain and the thing that helped my back when I was sitting was to take a cold can of soda, and put it in between my back and the seat and sit back against it. The pressure and the cold helped my back, which in turn helped my legs, which meant.... I could finally leave my apartment again!!!

I lived in a three floor apt. building...on the top floor! And couldn't go down or up the stairs for a solid week.

The only other thing I think would help would be a professional massage, I got one and I was pain free for about a week!

The only thing that would help me was a chiropractor. I went to one who does pressure points instead of the standard manipulation. It got so bad, shooting down one leg, that I felt like I was going to fall over. Some women actually do!!! I would go to www.morter.com to see if you have a doctor in your area that does this touch therapy type of manipulation. It's devine and helps with other things too! It's even covered by my insurance. Just find someone on the list who is a "master" level if you can and one who is a D.C.

Good luck! You're almost there!

Stretches should be good. My best friend is 34 weeks along and she was complaining about the same thing yesterday. I have 3 children and it was a problem with all of them. Try to rest your legs a little more during the day. That seemed to help me. Good Luck!

The only relief I found was to keep moving. Take a walk. It helps to stratch the muscles. Pain medicine won't do ant good, so don't waste your time. I have problems with this even when I'm not prego and exercise is the best medicine.

i had this problem with my third. i got one of those big exercise balls. sit on it. it should help take the pressure off your hips. also with assistance you should be able to do some stretches on it. be careful not to fall off of it though. also, it's very comfy to sit on during labor and can actually help the baby to drop into the pelvis. ask your dr. if you could use one in labor if you're interested. good luck and congratulations on the upcoming baby!
