First of all, installing windows 98 this day and age would lead you nowhere. There would be no driver support, no OS updates, and most recent applications would probably not run. Use win 98 bootdisk to delete the existing partition, and also in creating a new one. The boot disk would see what file system it has. After creating the partition, format the drive, then you are all set.
But if I were you, Id use xp. Just insert the CD and youre good to go.

ok. Is there an Audio Mute image on that key? you recognize, like truly one of the different purposes you get by skill of preserving the Fn key down and hitting a key? you'll see the subtext drawn or written on many keys... the needs they carry out once you carry the Fn key. each and each of the F keys up proper must have them. It feels like the Fn key will be stuck down. in spite of the indisputable fact that, in case you do stumble on a function key that mutes, and it really is not the 0 key, then you fairly have a short someplace, and it became maximum probable brought about by skill of a spill. attempt hooking up a USB keyboard and be conscious if it does an same component. in the different case, take it to a restoration keep and characteristic them diagnose it. If no longer some thing else, they must be able to analyze it with a conventional good computing device keyboard, to work out no matter if it really is the computing device, or only the keyboard.

Thats why you put the new drive in as a slave, copy everything from the old to new THEN take the old one out and make the new drive the master.
Unless of course the old one is broken
