regular or premium is an old question. Premium fuel has only a higher octane rating to prevent preignition or "knocking" and is only needed in high compression motors. It will not harm a motor but costs more and delivers the same mileage. if you don't need don't buy. low Octane fuel like regular has more tendency to knock in high compression motors, and this is not good. If your motor runs on after shutting off the key, rattles when you put your foot down or as you are going up a hill try higher octane fuel. It can damage an engine to run it on fuel that makes it knock.

Premium grade fuel will not hurt your engine but may hurt your pcketbook. You should use the lowest octane fuel that your engine will run on without detonation. Detonation sounds like a rattling noise when you tromp down on the gas pedal.

premium octane will increase performance, higher octane = bigger explosion which= more power, it will also give you better mileage. It will not hurt your engine. If it does anything you MIGHT key word might need to change your timing if the octane is that big of a diffrence. Dont run 110 octane with out some modifications to your engine that will casue some problems
