i got internet on another computer ;same house

I think you're talking about Internet connection sharing. That is built into XP. You get into network connections, right-click the Internet uplink, and tell the connection that it's okay to share it.

Then you have to set the IP addresses so that the two computers talk to one another. Finally, you tell the second computer to use the first as a router / gateway.

The answer to your question- I requested a wireless internet but was still sent a modem- it's an EWIRE and you still plug it in and run your cable to the DSL Filter plug into the phone jack. It still plugs into the tower. And a cd comes with it to run the step-by-step connection. Hope this helps and good luck!

If both of your computers have wireless network cards, follow the directions found at http://support.gateway.com/s/Manuals/Mobile/8508803/8508803e.htm. Both systems will need to by Windows XP, in order to work. These instructions will get your two computers talking to each other wirelessly.

Well it would not get you internet, but a computer to computer network.
