No, any news article I've read, specifically states he was not. It used to be Amish did not drive any kind of motorized vehicle. I hope your not making light of the situation. This incident is a tragedy. People are dead, for no reason, and as usual those left behind, family and friends will suffer.

He was not Amish. It is speculation that he targeted the Amish school for his very well-planned attack because it was closeby and easy to get into. He worked for a dairy driving a truck to pick up milk from the Amish farms.

It is a horrible tragedy. Why are some people so violent and cruel?

Charles Carl Roberts IV was 32. If an incident occurred 20 years ago he would have been 12 years old. He let the boys go free and the pregnant women or those with infants. So I speculated that maybe he was rejected by a girl when he was 12 but reports say that he had molested children at that time and dreamed of doing it again. In addition, he was angry at God because his daughter had died.

Who can understand what drove him to do what he did? Who can understand a pervert's mind?

Just read the story and he was not Amish but terribly disturbed. Why anyone would take innocent life that was totally unrelated to what occurred to him 20 years ago is beyond my comprehension. So tragic for the families of those murdered and most likely asking themselves Why,their child. No answer for the person who did this and all those who do these horrific acts of violence against innocents must all have a warped mind. I also feel for the man's family-his poor wife, not only losing a husband and the father of her children but has to live with his deed and how does she explain his dying to their children. A Tragedy

It makes one wonder if the Amish are onto something eh? ... by separating themselves from the rest of this often evil world. One would think, that a person who lives a lifestyle like the Amish ... one of almost total seclusion ... that the rest of the world would let them live in the peace they so desperately desire. In the words of my mother "What is this world coming to?". Sad, extremely sad.

I do not believe so !
1. Amish people generally oppose motorized
transportation.
2. They also oppose technology .... (The killer
called his wife using the cell phone )....
3. He was not dressed in the typical way
of the Amish people....

No he was NOT. Terrible tragedy...who would think such a thing could happen to that community? He supposedly had a 20 year grudge about something that had nothing to do with the Amish, they were just an easy target for him to take his sick hate out on, that coward. I guess we'll be hearing more about these sicko's. I am heartsick over this...just heartsick
