Arm Wrestling Technique. The Press The press is one of the purest power moves in arm wrestling. Having a bulky upper body certainly helps with this one. If you are confident that you have superior upper body power (especially chest and triceps) to your opponent and are at least equal in bicep and forearm strength, this is a good move to perform. If, however, your opponent is much stronger than you are in the chest and triceps, using the press might be a bad idea. This move can be beaten by a quick toproll, as it is vulnerable to strong, quick backpressure. This is because your arm must be close to your body to perform this move, so if your opponent can pull your arm across the table you will not be able to win with a press. The press is also a good move to use in a long tournament. Unlike the hook and toproll, which rely most heavily upon the biceps and forearms, the primary muscles used in the hook are the triceps, shoulders, and chest. Thus, a good way to give your bi's and forearms a rest during a long tournament is to throw in a press when you can. Be careful, however, to use it only in situations where your chest and tricep strength is superior to that of your opponent!

There are many muscles are involved. I will say though, the last time I arm wrestled I tore the muscles or tendons on the inside of my wrist. So that was the most important "muscle" to me. It took many years to heal and it isn't even near what it used to be. Never wrestled since. Wrestling days were over.

If you want more strentgh, the forearm is probably your most powerful weapon. Arm wrestling is more about strategy, leverage, timing, and psyching out your opponent. The strongest arm wrestlers are not the ones that win the championships. It's like pinning someone in a greco-roman wrestling match, it's more about gaining an advantage in position and leverage.

Your biceps and triceps are the muscles, and arm curls with10-20 lb weights should do the trick in 3 sets of 10 reps to begin with.

I have a real close friend who (in 1999) was ranked 7th in the amateur armwrestling league. He taught me alot about the sport so I can help you on this one. Your forearms are your biggest asset. Breaking the leverage of the other party severely hampers their power, increasing your chance of winning. If you have the power to "roll" their hand then you are bound to win. Good Luck.

well to rotate your arm you need wrist (rollups) bicep(curls or isolation curls) and your triceps(kick backs) and then you have shoulders(rows) try that and see if you cant get some power

i believe you use the "bicep" in an arm wrestle, and a good excercise for the muscle, is to do bench press, chin-ups, or push-ups.
