I am in a class called Cultural Diversity in the Classroom at my local university. I am doing my take home test and there is a question about tracking. Can someone tell me what that is so I can answer the question.

If you tell us what the question is, we might be able to help. Without a context, we can only guess what you are asking about.

My guess is tracking as related to high schools. That is where students are separated into high, medium, and low tracks. The high tracks contain the smart kids, the ones who learn quickly. The medium track contains the average kids and the low track contains the kids that have the most difficulty understanding the material that is presented. The problem with this type of tracking is that the low track kids often get labeled as dumb. (kills the self esteem and consequently reduces achievment.)

probably means keeping track of the different racial and ethnic groups.
Look through your old notes and in the index of the book to make sure
Then again if you are on here you probably already did that
or it might be when schools use to sperate children into tracks and minorities were put into lower tracks
