The most fertile time in your life will be when you ovulate, AND the first 6 weeks after you have a baby.
Most MD's tell new mothers not to have sex for 6 weeks, but most of those MD's do NOT tell moms WHY... so a lot of moms think it is because of the healing process that intercourse is not recommended.
That is one factor, but the big one is the fact that there is an almost 100% garauntee that if you have unprotected sex during that time frame, you WILL get pregnant.
That also happened to my mom with TWO of my siblings... soon as she got one out, POOF! she was pregnant again... and then again!
I know it's probably not what you WANTED to hear, but at least you will know what to expect after the next one:) Good Luck!!

you can get pregnant 4-6 weeks after giving birth. don't panic yet give it a month and if your monthly friend doesn't visit then go in for check up. Good luck my friend. i have a family member and their kids are 9 1/2 months a part in age. the funny thing is they were born the same year.

Well congratulations, and possibly congratulations again. For your sake, hopefully your not. You miss out on a lot if your pregnant trying to take care of an infant. From now on wait, wait, wait until you cycle again and if not take a test in a couple weeks. Either way, good luck.

I know a girl who had a baby and then 9 months later had another one. That might not be what you wanted to hear but the birth dates were 9 months apart.
Good Luck.

As soon as you begin to ovulate again you can get pregnant. This varies from woman to woman.
Not to scare you but it is possible to get pregnant in just a few weeks after giving birth. A woman's uterus is made to carry children and will as much as it is allowed to.

less than 28 days. as soon as you ovulate. so you should be using your head and don't rely on a condom alone. condoms break all the time... if you love your self and new family than be in control of your hormones

The beauty of the female reproductive system is that you don't know you can conceive until two weeks after you are fertile.
