I just started watching and I never got what happened to Silas and Shane's dad (Nancy's husband)? Is he in prison?

Died before the show started. That is why she had to sell weed. To pay the bills. They started show one with her getting food from friends and relatives.

They showed what happened to him in the first episode. He had a heart attack in bed and left her with no means of support. She wanted to keep up her suburban life style...and fell into selling "weed".

Oh I thought he worked as a DEA agent. i only watch the show sometimes so I may be wrong.

They finally dropped a 'hint' 2 weeks ago. They didn't mention it the first season but he had a heart attack while jogging...lol
