Well I guess it depends were. Here in Alberta for learners you need to answer questions you can have a choice in some places if you want to use a computer or wright it both with multiple choice questions then you need you're learners for 1 year then you can go for you're drivers test then you will have a GDL license when you get that then you have to drive for 2 years with no demerit points taking off but I think up to 4 is ok. Then after the 2 years you can go for another drivers test to get a official drivers license
Their is not much difference between a GDL and a official Drivers license. Besides with a GDL if you get stopped for something they are a lot harder on you.

well in Ontario, you 1st have to take a written exam which is multiple choice and fairly easy. next, if you pass that written exam, you have 1 year where you are allowed to drive, but only if the person sitting next to you has a liscence. After that year is over, you can take your actual driving test. After you pass that, you have to take and pass 1 more driving test i think within 4 years. the driving tests aren't that hard. I'd say the first one is a 9 or 8 and the second one is about a 7.

They ask you to envision some letters at diverse sizes, and then they ask you to look into (i don't realize it rather is formal call even nonetheless it rather is an identical element you notice on the optomitrist's workplace) and that they ask you to declare which ingredient (Left or good) that a mild is blink to envision ther pereipherel imaginative and prescient. it is not perplexing, they don't attempt to trcik you or something. playstation , you get to do the understanding attempt (40 dissimilar determination questions, 20 on signs and indicators and 20 on making use of) earlier you do the imaginative and prescient attempt. The worst that would desire to ensue is they might propose you to get a clean prescription earlier they situation you a license. You get to do the attempt first, and in case you bypass then you definately can do the imaginative and prescient attempt and that they take your information. solid success, it isn't perplexing, yet examine the handbook!

WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!! I moved from Texas to Ontario in 1996. All I had to do was surrender my US license, and I received an Ontario license. If you are a licensed driver, you DO NOT have to take any tests or go thru any graduating license procedures! It is very simply done through the Ministry of transportation!

this varies in every province. Your best bet is to go to the Registry office in your province and ask. It is different names for them in each province as well.
MM is giving you the procedure for a new driver( first licence) in Ontario for Ontario people who have never driven before.)
(and for Mikey, I have driven in US and obviously they don't test) {now how do I make that tongue stuck out thingy?}
